I. Ever had this doubt?
You teleport to a new location and the map looks normal—PokéStops and Pokémon are visible.
But when you spin a stop, nothing drops; when you throw a ball, the Pokémon flees immediately; when you interact with gyms, everything fails.
The system shows no warning, leaving you wondering:
“Is this just bad luck, or am I softbanned?”
For spoofers, this uncertainty is troublesome—misjudging could waste time or trigger more serious detection mechanisms.
II. What is a softban?
A Softban is one of Niantic’s mechanisms for detecting and preventing abnormal player behavior.
It primarily targets cases of unreasonable movement within a short time, such as teleporting from Taipei to New York within seconds or interacting before the cooldown has ended.
When this occurs, the system temporarily restricts your in-game actions.
III. Typical signs
-
PokéStops drop nothing: Spin animation works, but item count doesn’t change.
-
Pokémon flee instantly: Regardless of ball or berry used, the first throw always fails.
-
Gym interactions fail: Feeding, battling, or occupying show no response.
IV. Verification method
The simplest test: Spin one PokéStop and catch one Pokémon.
-
If both succeed → Not softbanned.
-
If both fail → Almost certainly softbanned.
V. Removal Methods and Common Misconceptions
The only reliable way to lift a softban is to wait for the cooldown period to end.
Online rumors such as “spinning the same PokéStop 30 times” are not guaranteed to work and may even increase your abnormal activity record, making detection more likely.
VI. How to avoid it
Experienced spoofers strictly calculate teleport distances and cooldown times, using joystick walking while waiting to avoid resetting timers.
The biggest risk is mid-cooldown interaction (spinning, catching, raiding), which resets cooldown entirely.
FlyMon
FlyMon has a built-in cooldown timer that automatically calculates and counts down safe wait times based on teleport distance.
Combined with integrated functions—location spoofing, joystick walking, auto-catching, auto-spinning, and auto-reconnect—FlyMon reduces misoperations and disconnection risks, letting you play efficiently even during cooldown.
